My Story

Running Has Always Been Part Of My Life

I am Bruce Meyerson.

Having run my whole life, I ran my last marathon at 63 years old and completed a 100 km circuit run at 64.

Today, at 76, I still run four times a week, averaging around 35 km a week and taking part in a 5 km parkrun every Saturday.

When Everything Changed

About ten years ago my whole body seized up. My calves, my glutes and my groin area became so bad that I was unable to go to work and had to be driven everywhere. I couldn’t sleep in a bed because I couldn’t straighten my legs and had to sleep in a recliner chair.

I went to chiropractors, biokineticists and numerous massage therapists but none of them could fix me.

I then decided to fix myself using some old Japanese techniques and my knowledge of my running body.

Within two weeks I was back at work and running again.

Why I Do This

Helping people move again isn’t always about running further or exercising harder.

Sometimes it’s about getting up off the floor after a fall. Sometimes it’s walking up a flight of stairs or getting out of a chair without needing assistance.

Everybody has their own goals.

One of the benefits I have when working with senior members is that in many cases I am their age or older. I can physically demonstrate many of the movements that I teach because I still do them myself every day.

Lucky The Limbs That Bend

"Lucky the limbs that bend. They shall never break."

That isn't just the BendMobility motto, it's also the way I approach movement. Slow. Easy. Safe. Everybody has their own goals, and sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference.

Wherever you're starting from, we'll work at a pace that suits you and build towards the goals that matter to you.
